Article #21483: Installing C++ Builder 5 Trial edition to Windows 2000 under a Non-Administrator profile

Question:
When installing the trial edition of Borland C++ Builder 5, I have come across the following error messages: "Uninstaller setup failed to initialize." The error dialog references a file called Uninst.isu. If the installation is continued, several error messages are reported toward the end of the installation such as: "The following self registering DLL's failed to register..." This may be followed by any number of error messages, each of which indicate that the user does not have sufficient registry access to complete the installation. What can I do to prevent this?
Answer:
The installation engine assumes that the application is being installed under a profile with Administrator level access rights. You must install C++ Builder 5 Trial as Administrator to avoid these errors.
