Article #22155: Error: "BORDBK51.DLL is missing or not registered" after apparently successful manual registration.

Question:

Why does the error, "BORDBK51.DLL is missing or not registered appear after manual registration of the .DLL with REGSVR32.EXE?

Answer:

If you are running C++Builder 5 under Windows 95 and are receiving the error message "BORDBK51.DLL is missing or not registered," when you have already attempted to manually register it using REGSVR32.EXE, close the dialog and continue with compilation.  In the few cases we have documented, it has been noted that the message usually stops appearing after reattempting to compile the project.

Unfortunately, if your operating system is Windows 95B, it is possible that you may have to click "OK" each time you start Builder and first compile.  If your OS is anything else, the message is likely to "disappear" after a while, or can be fixed by manual registration of the .dll.
