Article #29586: Getting error 1629 when attempting to install InstallShield Express

Problem:

Attempting to install InstallShield Express that comes with Delphi 7 Enterprise, an error message comes up:
"1629: Invalid Command Line" and the installation aborts.

Solution:

From the Operating System, select My Computer | Properties | Advanced, and select Environment Variables. Under User Variables, check to see what the variables 'Temp' and 'Tmp' are set to. Sometimes the installer has problems if there is a space in the path that Temp and/or Tmp point to. Change it to something without a space in it, like C:\Temp, and it should work.
