Question:
Whenever I select Help from the IDE, I will get the information
I need. However, whenever I go to the index tab on the help,
there is nothing displayed in the help area. It is blank. In
addition, the Find tab does not work. When I try to create the
find datafile, it gives me error 17 and puts me back on the
index page.
Answer:
Try this.
 — Close all active programs.
 — Go into the start menu's BC 5 area and run OpenHelp.
 — Select files that are of interest. I suggest this list to
start with:
BCPP.HLP
BCW.HLP
CLASSLIB.HLP
OWL50.HLP
WIN32.HLP
WIN31WH.HLP
 — Press Ok to save the list.
Now when you are in the IDE and press F1, help should be shown
on the word the cursor is on. If there are references in
several help files (TextOut is in both Win 3.1 and Win32 for
instance), you'll be given a choice of which you want to see.
This happens because of a Windows95(tm) Help system limitation
to the amount of refrences that it can have.
