Question and Answer Database QNA :Tlink: Unable to open file Category :Linking Platform :Windows95 Product :BC++ 5.x Question: I recently installed BC++ 5.0. I took a BC4.5 program and made a 16 bit IDE (called usaagp.ide) so that the program could run on Win 3.1 and 95 machines. The compile worked for all nodes (about 8 cpps and an rc). During the make step I got this weird error: Info :Transferring to E:\BC5\BIN\tlink.exe @D:\C++ programs\Guideline premium calculation\usaagp.r$p Fatal:(1,1):Unable to open file 'd:\c' I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Does anybody know? I really need to get this to work. Answer: The 16-bit tools (the 16 bit linker specifically) can not handle long file names. 7/2/1998 10:32:32 AM
