Question and Answer Database FAQ2063C.txt cdr101: Not ready reading drive (cdrom letter) Category :Install Issues Platform :Win95/NT Product : BC++5.x Question: User tries to install BC5 using the cd-only option. It aborts for some reason and when the user reboots, windows tries to start, but then gives an error that: cdr101: Not ready reading drive (cdrom letter) And won't continue unless the BC5 cd is in the drive. Freezing sometimes occurs in windows even when the cd is in. Answer: Delete all BC5 directories and try to remove the program from control panel-Add/Remove. Chances are, BC5 won't appear in the Add/Remove program list. In any case, start up the registry editor and search for a bcr* file. Delete this when you find it. While you're at it, delete the rest of the borland* and bc5 files in the registry. Use find to locate them. Name: Local BCRoot Path Data: c:\BC5\BIN Reboot, and the error should not appear. 5/18/98 8:36:26 AM
