Article #20183: Why does the IDE crash if the Microsoft proxy client is installed?

Problem: When the MS proxy client software is installed and you try to start C++Builder the IDE crashes as a result of C++Builder Direct trying to access the web. An error message similar to the following will result: Exception EAccessViolation in module WININET.DLL at 0001EB65 Access violation at address 7021EB65 in module 'WININET.DLL'. Read of address FFFFFFFF Note: The memory addresses will vary from system to system. Workaround: To prevent the IDE crash, you can disable C++Builder direct by following the steps in the FAQ with ID 19769.
