Question:
How do I install Turbo C++ version 3.0 for DOS? The installation
program gives me errors such as:
- Incorrect Source Path
- Source Path cannot be found
- Invalid Drive selection
- Invalid Directory name format
Solution:
The Turbo C++ installation program was written for DOS and
Windows 3.1, and can be difficult for those familiar with Windows
95, 98, NT and 2000.
The instructions for a normal installation are listed here. If
those steps do not produce a successful installation, use the
"Hard Drive" installation method listed below the normal method.
Installation of Turbo C++ version 3.0 for DOS
from the Turbo C++ Suite CD
1) Insert the "Turbo C++ Suite" CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2) The installation program should start automatically.
If the installation program fails to start automatically,
you may attempt to start it by double clicking on the
image of the CD-ROM in "My Computer".
3) Click on the Turbo C++ for DOS button.
4) Click "Enter" on your keyboard.
5) Enter the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive when
prompted to do so (usually D or E).
6) If prompted for the Source Path, enter "\TurboC30".
7) If/when prompted for the Destination drive change
the drive letter to the drive of your choice
(usually C). This is done in the following manner:
Directories... [ D:\TC ] (for example) will be highlighted.
— Hit the key.
Turbo C++ Directory: D:\TC will be highlighted.
— Hit the key.
D:\TC will be highlighted.
— Type in C:\TC and hit the key.
— All target directories will now have been changed to
the C directory.
— Hit the key. The target directory is now [ C:TC ].
8) Click the F9 key at the top of your keyboard to
start the installation.
Installation should proceed.

Turbo Suite — Turbo C++ version 3.0 for DOS
Hard drive Installation (in case a normal installation fails):
1) Copy the \Turboc30 folder from the CD to the HD.
2) Inside of the \Turboc30 folder, locate and double
-click on Install.exe.
3) When the installation program begins, select Enter.
4) Enter the Source drive letter (in this case C).
5) Source Path is \turboc30.
6) Use the arrow key to scroll to Start Installation.
7) Select or the F9 key.
If an error message is generated stating:
"Invalid directory or name format."
Click/Press the Esc key and change the ensuing drive
letter to the drive (Target Installation Drive)
of choice and select .
Installation should proceed.
