Q. I'm told I need to get the Borland Database Engine (BDE) to make my application work. Can I download it? How do I get it?
A. The BDE is not free. You must must purchase a product in which it is included. From Inprise/Borland this would be Delphi or C++ Builder. Other products which include the BDE are Visual dBASE 2000 from dBASE2000 Inc and Paradox for Windows from Corel. Developers making applications using Delphi or C++ Builder are given license to include the BDE with their application, so many C++ Builder and Delphi applications include it as well. |
